Remarks & Notes
Long out of service, Consolidated Rock Products (aka Conrock) GE 45-Ton locomotive 1833 sits in a corner of the company's facility in Irwindale, California, in April 1981. Built in November 1941 as US Army Quartermaster Corps 4548, it was later sold to Pacific Overseas Air Services (Alameda CA). It then became US Army 7429 (Fort Mason; San Francisco CA), then was sold to the Port of Olympia (WA) as their number 4 before finding its way to Conrock. Thanks for Bob Graham for the background information on this engine.
