Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific’s Dirt Train Local has already dropped its inbound loads at the East Carbon Development’s hazardous waste landfill. It is now backing up the steep west end of the small yard here to begin assembling its outbound empties. The action is taking place in the hamlet of East Carbon City on the Sunnyside sub. ECDC is the last customer on this line. It formerly included an interchange point with US Steel’s Carbon County Railroad at Columbia Jct.as well as service to the Kaiser Steel coal mine, source of the coal trains running to the steel mill at Fontana, California.
