Union Pacific’s 8005, an SD9043MAC model, is easing this ballast train down the Price River Canyon grade at Castle Gate, Utah on the Provo Sub. The 72 loads in this 9500 ton train are being assisted down the hill by 3 manned helpers on the rear. UP 8005 was built in 1996, renumbered to UP 3490 and then sold to Norfolk Southern in 2014.
