One Year Later:
As the Saturday photo shoot began to wind down and was almost ready to close, the fans began to stir: NKP 190 was on the move. It was being pulled from its spot by the roundhouse, and was apparently destined to be moved to Barber Junction Depot for the night shoot. Since I did not plan on attending the night shoot, I lingered, in the hope that I might be able to get a few more photos of my favorite Streamliner before I left. Various locomotives seemed to be prepared to move the 190, including the Duke Power GE switcher and CB&Q 9911A - but the moment soon arrived that all the Alcophiles had been hoping for during the whole event: CN FPA-4 6789 was attached to the PA, and began to move it to the depot. Suddenly, the museum started to look like a marathon: lots of people were running every which way (lugging cameras and camera bags) to follow the first-ever pairing of an FPA and PA as it moved towards the depot. A photo line soon formed at one of the last remaining pockets of golden-hour sunlight, and as this historic pair passed, I got one of my best photos of the 190: no foreground clutter, great light, and - best of all! - moving under Alco-power.
