The Arcelor Mittal's Quebec Cartier Mining Railway weekly freight is seen rolling out of Tunnel 29 on the Southern Subdivision on the way to Mont-Wright. QCM AC4400CW 17 leads the mixed freight train northbound at 20:38 hrs on August 21. A challenging scene to light, only 3 Alien Bees B1600 lights were used here... How many sets of animal eyes can you see reflecting in the hillside around the mountain? Yeah - un-nerving in the middle of nowhere in complete darkness, but again worth hanging out for! To give due credit, I only had to be faster than one of my two co-horts who helped carry equipment in, should an animal chase ensued. Thanks to Patrick DeLarue and Bruce Kerr for helping tote all that equipment in, out, up and down the mountain!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
