As the sun shine on one of the many jewels that is still floating around, we get a rare glimpse of TVA F6102 sitting cold on the TVA Widows Creek Fossil Plant dump lead. This SW1000 is a ex Chattahoochee Valley switcher that was converted to RCO when TVA had assigned this and two other motors to do the various of switching tasks around the 63 years old Widows Creek Fossil plant. Sadly time has took its toll on the Widows Creek Plant, and by the fourth quarter of the 2013 season only 61 years at the time in operation, TVA had to make a tough decision in closing down six which include the Widows Creek Fossil Plant down by late 2015 due to a changing regulatory and economic environment thanks to the EPA, this make an end of an era in Jackson County, Alabama. This switcher along with two SW1500 that served this plan had an uncertain future in operation.
