A Global 3 (Chicago), IL to Oakland, CA intermodal train chugs across the concrete Kate Shelley Bridge, which replaced the steal Kate Shelley High Bridge in August of 2009. The new concrete bridge is 2,813 feet long and is 190 feet high. Unlike the High Bridge, it can handle two trains at 70MPH as they cross the Des Moines River.
