Departing the Broadway Station on the old Brooklyn–Manhattan Transit Corporation (BMT) Astoria Line is a northbound N Broadway Express train consisting of Alstom R160B cars, heading downgrade to the next stop at 30th Avenue, and ultimately the line’s terminus at Ditmas Boulevard in Astoria, Queens – in the shadow, at least figuratively, of Amtrak’s Hell Gate Bridge. In the distance a southbound N Train can be seen, as well as an Amtrak Northeast Regional train on the approach to Hell Gate Bridge. (Astoria, Queens, New York – January 27, 2016)
