Switching a cut of autoracks at Canadian Pacific's Pig's Eye Yard in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on Feburary 5th, 2016 is Econo-Rail Corporation SW1200 1202. It turns out, I had encountered this diesel before, as it was previously Pacific Harbor Line 35, working in southern California nearly a decade earlier. ECRX 1202 was built by EMD in November 1957 as Pennsylvania Railroad 7904, becoming Penn Central 9054 when the Pennsy merged with the New York Central in 1968. When the bankrupt PC was merged with other northeastern railroads to form Conrail in 1976, this engine became CR 9358. Conrail sold it to the Louisville and Indiana Railroad, where it retained its number 9358. From the LIRC it went to the Pacific Harbor Line, which renumbered it to 35.
