The RhB got 5 of this 4 car trainsets from Stadler Rail for the commuter service on the "Stammnetz" (called STZ or Stammnetz Trieb Zug/trainset for the main network), mainly betweeen Schiers, Landquart, Chur and Thusis. They are formed as cab car ABt, B, B and railcar ABe.
