Remarks & Notes |
Tied down for the weekend is CSX M775-01 power as it sit across from the old Tullahoma Depot in Tullahoma, TN. The Slug unit CSX 2329 started its life on the L&N railroad as a GP30 than eventually was gutted, and rebuilt into a slug unit and was paired with a GP40-2 as a mate. Road slugs are intended to serve as part of a regular locomotive consist for road haulage, and as a result have certain adaptations to suit them for this service. In service these slug can provide extra traction at low speeds. |
