Remarks & Notes
After witnessing the old Southern signals being cut-out and the heads turned in Salisbury and Spencer, I came to the realization of just how quickly these signals are starting to disappear. I grew up watching trains roll under these old signals, and it is a sad sight to see them go. Fortunately, one can still find a very small handful of locations on the Piedmont where the old signals haven't been touched, as is the case with the intermediate signals at Lowell. On a cool spring morning, NS 154 rolls under the untouched intermediates at Lowell after meeting a late 203 further south.
