First thing Saturday I’d drive from engine terminal to engine terminal, taking inventory, checking to see what’s in, what’s new, what’s old. This usually took about an hour. But on October 19,1968, the lineup at UP’s Pullman roundhouse in Denver warranted a closer look and a few extra exposures. In on the overnight freight from Kansas City was one of UP’s few remaining F-units, F9A 513, rebuilt from F3A 1559. (Note the grab irons extending to the roof.) Idling behind that is 110B, a rare GP9B -- only UP and Pennsy had them – and DD35 82B, a model unique to UP and SP. All in all, a pretty good haul for the morning.
