How I Spent My Third Wedding Anniversary (Thanks, Honey!)
After assisting the World's Fair Daylight (New Orleans LA to Portland OR), pulled by Southern Pacific GS-4 4449, out of San Luis Obispo and over Cuesta Grade on June 20, 1984, SP SD40R 7342 was cut off and sent further east after the passenger special passed. It turns out that an eastbound freight, led by SP SD40R 7325, that stalled climbing the more gentle eastern slope of Cuesta.
