Two motors of WATCO's newest shortline, the Kanawha River Railroad, sit quiet in Nitro Yard (presumably assigned to the Nitro local) awaiting the next day's assignments. While only in operation for around a month, the 309 mile long operator of the former NYC/CR/NS West Virginia Secondary has stirred quite a buzz in the railroad communities along the line from Columbus to Charleston and down to Elmore, bringing life back to a line that has suffered from declining coal and chemical industries for the past several years.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
