Wiscasset; Waterville & Farmington 2'-gauge 0-4-4 #9 has just taken on a load of coal, and is backing down to pick up the two passenger cars for today's first train of the day in Alna, Maine. It is a cool, drizzly, September 11, 2016, and that helps create lots of dramatic steam swirling around this diminutive locomotive, built in 1891.
