A former "Big Six", de-rated from 6,000 to 4,400 HP in an effort to conserve fuel, leads southbound Q453 through Folkston, GA. The train went into emergency a few miles north on the Jesup Sub, and again a few miles south of here in Hilliard. Both mains became tied up for over an hour after a northbound light engine move was dispatched to assist 453's conductor remedy the issue. 'Tis just another day on the railroad.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
