Back in April a business trip took me to Florida, and since I'd never railfanned the Sunshine State I tacked on a couple vacation days and met a friend for a 4 day epic 1000 mile tour of the state.
We had several key goals for the trip and one of them was this train. I'd never shot the famed "Orange Juice Train" so after a night in Tampa we set out south toward Bradenton on Sunday morning to follow the northbound train from origin. Right on time the train started out over the long low bridge, and I particularly liked this shot framed in some old piers.
I could not believe how crystal clear the water was, and I even got to see my first wild manatee...which clearly explains how aptly named this river is. |
