| As the sun set from the west at five in the evening in the Mississippi Delta town of Clarkedale, AR, the hotshot BNSF Q-LBTMEM9-15 rocket east past the Clarkedale intermediate signal (MP-466.6 Clarkedale). The train 19 rail-miles west of the Mississippi River "Big River" and it is making perfect timing as the dispatcher mover all the east, and westbound traffic out of the way for the Q-train. Once the train crosses the "Big River" the guaranteed service intermodal train will arrive at the BNSF Tennessee Yard (Intermodal Facility) at dusk. Photo from the John Kirk collection. |
