| "New York & Atlantic Railway at Nostrand Ave" New York & Atlantic Railway's last SW1001, #101 trails on Long Island Extra 100 as it pasts Nostrand Ave Station on the Atlantic Branch towards VD Yard. LIRR SW1001 #100 is leading the way. The power was used to assist crews during the rerailing of the train that ran into the bumping block at Atlantic Terminal the week prior. This is the first time diesels have traversed the Atlantic Branch in over a decade and the first time NYAR has ever made an appearance on the Atlantic Branch. |
