The Iowa Northern's North Crew is working towards Manly with a Union Pacific potash train out of Waterloo. The train is seen here between Cedar Falls and Shell Rock on a snowy February day. When the Iowa Northern was bought by Iron Road Railway (IRR) in 1994, some of their power also came to the property. These units for sister companies BAR and CDAC were rebuilt at National Railway at Silvis. Then the units were tested on a power short Iowa Northern property to have the bugs worked out before being shipped out east. This era lasted only few short years. The 365 was rebuilt from BAR 83, the unit was sold off to WATCO, and is now the WAMX 3828.
Crazy pool power consists, colorful gatherings of locomotives at a diesel service area, or a mixture of colorful locomotives in storage lines. A minimum of four different paint schemes required.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
