The Geraldine and the ALP-46
The fire truck “The Geraldine” is parked in the pre parade staging area at Hillside Avenue Chatham NJ for the Chatham NJ 4th of July parade.
The Geraldine is a 1921 Model-P4 Ahrens-Fox, Registration No. 724 1300 GPM Twin Piston Pump, 23 Model PS manufactured, only 3 exist today. The Geraldine was a gift to the town of Madison from Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge. Also shown passing by behind is New Jersey Transit modern ALP-46 #4608 on NJT train #6917 on the Morris & Essex Lines that serves Chatham and Madison.
