As the BN started getting DP-AC power, they started messing around with DP-ing heavy units trains across their network. Late in 1995 they started testing stuff out on their taconite trains out of Minnesota bound for Granite City, IL. Here a loaded train passes thru the 1st siding south of Galesburg at Abington. Up front is 9713 and 9716, 3/4 of the ways back is the 9715 and 9714 in DP. Not sure how many tests they ran, but did one in 1x1x1x1 setup, and also did one using the DP in ATSF SF30C's.
