Remarks & Notes
In October 1995, Willamette & Pacific ran SP 4449 over its lines to promote the new Portland & Western startup. Whenever possible, the steamer was used to move revenue freight cars. One side of 4449's tender was lettered for each railroad. On the first day of operation, the Daylight enters Independence at sunset with a healthy train on the drawbar.
