After running a series of employee appreciation events throughout the system this spring and summer, BNSF Train O MPLTOP1 28A brings the 2016 BNSF Railway Special home to Topeka from the Twin Cities Area via the BNSF Marceline Sub.-NS Kansas City District.
I couldn't help but have a sinking feeling while waiting on this move, observing the entire railroad in a severely disrupted condition due to the head-on collision the day before in Panhandle, TX that resulted in the deaths of 3 brothers and sister railroaders and severe injuries to another. I can only hope that they did not suffer, and their families and friends find peace in their time of mourning.
