Afternoon photos of Amtrak Pacific Surfliners in Fullerton are often not as great as they should be, because the power is normally on the eastern end, away from the sun. But on March 31, 2017, Amtrak train 785 arrived from San Diego with F59PHI 461 on the point, rather than the usual cab car. Unusually, the seven-car train had a second F59PHI on the rear as well, number 451. The train will arrive in Goleta, California, later this evening.
