From the rugged hills of Tehachapi Pass and Cajon Pass to the sea spray of the coast line, this Union Pacific business car train saw it all, all within a 24 hour period. Beginning the morning in Bakersfield, Calif., this special traversed Tehachapi Pass under cloudy skies before breaking into the light on its run into Los Angeles. Running slightly behind schedule at this point, the train found itself running along the ex-Southern Pacific coast in the beautiful afternoon light as it is seen joining the Pacific Ocean for the first time just north of the town of Ventura.
