Remarks & Notes
The only way to get by car from the German mainland to the island of Sylt is taking the Sylt Shuttle over the Hindenburgdamm. DB 218 386-1 + 218 314-3 with the Sylt-shuttle from Niebüll to Westerland.. At the tail of the train is added a DMU series 628 for passenger transport. This part runs as D 1452 from Bredstedt to Westerland. This was a messure for political reasons. With running a passengertrain could DB claim the slot on the track for its profitable Sylt Shuttle, which could otherwise be claimed by other open acces operators.
