| Around 11:20 a.m. Friday May 5, 2017, BNSF 5906 & BNSF 8520 was on a SLCBKM0 33A headed south towards Foley, Missouri when it encountered a loaded dump truck at a private quarry entrance railroad crossing. The train slammed into the truck tearing it into pieces forcing the trailing unit and around 30 loaded cars of coal to derail. The driver of the dump truck was sent to a nearby hospital where he passed on around 12:30 p.m. No injuries were reported for the train crew. All in all it's still a sad situation since there was a loss of life. |
