The Battle River Railway passenger train trundles its way north at Heisler, Alberta, returning from Foretsburg to Kelsey with the Scandinavian Days excursion. May 17 is Norway's National Holiday "Syttende Mai". Organised by the Friends of Battle River Railway this trip acknowledges the Scandinavian heritage of many of the farmers and settlers in this part of Alberta. As well as taking a leisurely spring time trek across the Alberta prairies, at Forestburg the passengers enjoy a Scandinavian lunch, stories and music. The train comprises ex CN caboose 79691, ex CN, ex VIA coach, now unnumbered but previously with the Kamloops Heritage Railway as #404, and an unidentified CP box car.
