An eastbound Union Pacific freight slowly passes through a track capacity addition at Allen Creek, Iowa, while welders work on doing two field welds on track being changed. A siding, along with expanding a second main track west to near California Junction, along with new crossovers, is being built on August 15, 2012. This work is being done on the Blair Subdivision which is former Chicago & North Western trackage from East Missouri Valley to the UP connection at Fremont, Nebraska.
