Remarks & Notes |
Sad picture, this one. Here is D&RGW #5371 rolling east down the yard lead at Helper, Utah accompanied by 3 UP SD40-2's. This Rio Grande SD40T-2 and mates are headed out of the yard onto the UP main line to run light engine to the small yard at Wash, Utah to pick up today's loads of “dirty dirt” and trash for the Dirt Train. Then east a few miles on the Green River Sub. where it will hang a left and go up the Sunnyside Sub. When it returns to Helper it will be done with it’s work for the D&RGW/UP forever. No more fighting the grades in Colorado and Utah for this Tunnel Motor for it is headed to retirement at the Utah State Railroad Museum in Ogden. |
