Remarks & Notes
The setting sun glints off of an eastbound stack train and Amtrak's westbound Southwest Chief as they meet at the intermediate signal bridge just west of Fort Madison in Iowa farm country. With the entire west end of the subdivision already cut over to new signals, the fate of these classic Santa Fe hallmarks of railroad history is sure to come.
