A fairly rare thing, UP’s Shoreline Sub local has died in Belgium, WI. The local usually heads north around 10:30-11:00pm, but this morning they decided to head north at 6:30am and the crew couldn’t finish so the train died in Belgium. Also a fairly rare unit, UP 2233 a SD60 is in charge of the local. What’s left of the old Belgium Grain Elevator still sits in the background.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
