Remarks & Notes
Highest point on the transcontinental railroad
On the beautiful early autumn day of September 24, 2003, an eastbound Union Pacific freight crests the summit of Sherman Hill at Sherman, Wyoming, passing the signs that proclaim an elevation of 8,015 feet and that it is the “Highest point on the transcontinental railroad.”
