As the sun finally bleeds through the clouds, we get a good dosage of evening light, and catch the Avon bound CSX Q512-23 (Waycross,GA-Avon,IN) as the massive freight coast down the 2 mile section of the 8 mile long grueling Cumberland Mountain grade after staggering up the mountain hitting a 10 mph speed restriction just south of Rockledge through a derailment site. The freight has a green ball on the board, and continues north through Cowan. The Pusher J298-25 which is about 12,000+ ft back at the bottom of the freight has uncouple on the fly, and will creep down the grade, til they get a restriction signal to proceed back into the pusher yard for the evening. We're in a very unusual times here at CSX as it's has been 3 months, and 8 days since Jim Foote has taken the CEO roll out of Jacksonville, and we continue to see the evolution of the late E. Hunter Harrison's PSR practice take form.
