A 2x3 coal train is in the middle of this 6 mile 1% climb between Arvada and Kendrick. All 5 units have their hands full as they crawl upgrade thru the huge reverse curve west of Arvada! The train picked up the rear 2 units as helpers to get over the grades to Sheridan. The train came out of the mine as a 2x1 DP-ed train. This is the BNSF's Big Horn Sub that runs west out of Gillette towards Sheridan. A subdivision full of big grades in awesome countryside! This train was loaded at Cabollo Rojo Mine near Rojo Jct., WY, and is heading to Big Stone City, SD, for Ottertail Power at the Big Stone Plant.
