Remarks & Notes |
WOW - what a lot to see today in the BNSF Engine Servicing Facility yard in Denver. Aside from a couple visiting Norfolk Southern units and a couple BNSF Heritage I units, there were two Federal Railroad Administration Cars. DOTX 220 (the white one) is the Office of Safety car and DOTX 218 (the blue one) is a Gage Restraint Measurement Vehicle - Office of Research and Development. If that was not enough there were two former CEFX (CIT Group) units that have now been flagged under OMLX (OmniTRAX). OMLX 3144 started life as a SD45 for Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe in 1966 and was rebuilt into a SD40M-2. OMLX 2123 started life in 1969 as a SD45 for the Southern Pacific and was also rebuilt as a SD40M-2. It likely wont be long before we see these two units operating in the Loveland/Fort Collins area with the other OmniTRAX engines. |
