In an unusual move, a westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe manifest freight switches cars around at the west end of Clay siding on Union Pacific’s Moffat Tunnel Subdivision on the morning of July 5, 2003. Train make up wasn’t correct out of the yard in Denver most likely due to this train being involved in minor derailment the previous evening, so cars were switched around near the head end most likely because of cars of hazardous materials being too close to the locomotives. In this view, the female conductor brings the train east to a joint on the main line at Clay during the switching moves.
