Remarks & Notes |
The final stop on our chase of BNSF 4405 and its freight was Palmer Lake, Colorado. Palmer Lake is at elevation 7,250 feet and is at the top of the Palmer Divide which is separates the Denver metropolitan area from the Pike’s Peak / Colorado Springs area. The lake was historically used to replenish water for steam locomotives traveling to and from Denver from Colorado Springs but is now a popular fishing spot. |
