Remarks & Notes |
After the 10 mile trek through the Cairngorm National Forrest from Aviemore, the power for our afternoon "tea train" runs around to the south end of the train for the return trip. This 1899 beauty is the only surviving member of the Caledonia Rwy 812 class of 0-6-0s built from 1899-1909 and totaling 96 locos. What a treat it was to hear this old girl galloping along with 6 coaches at the head of our train! |
