Remarks & Notes
Vermont Rail System’s “Little WACR”, the Washington County Railroad affiliate Montpelier & Barre Subdivision (M&B Sub for short) re-launched granite-hauling service from the Rock of Ages Quarry in Graniteville, VT, last week with 5-day-a-week service for interchange to New England Central Railroad at Montpelier Jct., VT. On June 22, 2018, the only road unit in service in Green Mountain Railroad paint, GMRC GP9R 804, leads VTR GP40-2 307 past the Granite Museum in Barre, VT with a not-so-stuffed but certainly mounted former Barre & Chelsea No. 14, built by General Electric in September 1947.
