Remarks & Notes
"Whose Line is it, Anyway"?"

A SEPTA commuter train pops out of the Center City Commuter Tunnel in downtown Philadelphia bound for Amtrak's 30th Street Station. The commuter train is led by a leased Amtrak ACS-64 "Cities Sprinter" along with a set of Metroliner coaches in tow. This was about 2 years prior to SEPTA receiving its own order of 15 Siemens ""American Cities Sprinters". The reason for this unique event which took place over the Summer and Fall of 2016 and into 2017 was to make up for a shortage in capacity as the result of SEPTA withdrawing its then recently delivered Silverliner V's from service after an inspection discovered a design flaw necessitating repairs to the fleet. The ROW itself, known as the Center City Commuter (Rail) Connnection" was built between June 22nd, 1978 and November 10th, 1984 with the first official train clearing the tunnel on November 10th, 1984. The connection connected the stump end terminals of the former PRR and RDG railroads in the heart of downtown Philadelphia.
