An interesting view from San Romerio (1800 metres above sea level) of the winding RhB Bernina line in the Brusio area at around 800 metres above sea level, with the famous circular viaduct in the background and the loops above the railway station in the foreground. With the exception of the station of Brusio (in the centre of the picture), the route has a gradient of 7.0 % throughout, and on the section visible here in the photo, about 140 metres of difference in altitude are covered. The Bernina Express # 976 from Tirano to St.Moritz goes without stop from Tirano to Le Prese at the end of Lago di Poschiavo. The 6 panorama coaches are pulled by two railcars "TW III" (railcars third generation) ABe 4/4 # 51 and # 53.
