The UP assembled an eclectic mix of power to pull a long line of heavy gondolas carrying scrap metal from Denver towards Colorado Springs. Included were UP 6048 (AC4400CW-CTE), UP 8386 (SD70ACe), UP 7512 (AC45CCTE), UP 4380 (SD70M), UP 4555 (SD70M), UP 6417 (former Southern Pacific AC4400CW) and UP 1459 (former Cotton Belt GP40-2).
