Remarks & Notes |
Amtrak's Coast Starlight, masquerading as the 'San Joaquin Starlight' during a one day detour in September 2013, has entered the east end of what was once Tunnel Half, located in the heart of the Caliente Creek Narrows. The existence of Tunnel Half and its eventual elimination was both brought on by major flood damage and track realignment within the narrow canyon. Although the tunnel stood for nearly 100 years today only a deep cut in the earth marks the remains of its existence. |
