| The bare-bones frame of the Steam Railroading Institute's next project sits outside in the yard at Owosso. Inside the shop is the boiler. The 1908 Alco Class R served in regular service for 49 years. The engine was abandoned in 1972 after a few years of tourist service. The Steam Railroading Institute purchased the locomotive last year with the intent to complete a full restoration. |
