Remarks & Notes |
60 years ago to-day I took what I consider to be my first reasonably successful railway photograph. The first of the renowned GWR Castle class 4-6-0s, No 4073 Caerphilly Castle had just arrived at Paddington with the 08.15am Saturdays only express from Abertillery in South Wales and stands under the Brunel's wonderful station roof. The photo was taken with a Kodak 6 x 9 folding camera which I had recently purchased for £3 (approx $5). See Georg Trueb's photo http://www.railpictures.net/photoexif/690687/ for a photo of Caerphilly Castle taken just three weeks ago. |
