One of Kansas City's four city trams (aka "trolley") makes a stop at the line's Metro Center Station (at the corner of Main Street and 12th) in the city's downtown on August 8, 2018. Operated by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, this trolley line stretches for 2.2 miles (3.5 km) primarily on Main Street. At the south end is a stub-end station at Union Station, and at the northern end the line loops through the City Market District. Four low-floor Urbos 3 streetcars are operated, built by CAF in Elmira Heights, NY. This new service, which opened on May 6, 2016, is successful enough that extensions are already being designed and two additional streetcars are on order.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
