Amtrak train 777 passes through CP Maple just north of the Metrolink station in the city of Orange, California. This Pacific Surfliner is heading from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, and is powered by Amtrak P42DC 83. These trains are in transition, and at this date (January 1, 2019) one never knows what power will be on one of these trains - A F59PHI (which are dwindling in numbers as they are sent east to their new owner, Chicago's Metra), a P42DC from the Amtrak's vast fleet, or a new SC-44 "Charger" diesel.
